A Date with My Man

Park City. My Man. No kids. Not just a fantasy, my reality for a couple hours tonight. Fantastic. We went to a fabulous dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Dreamy. An early anniversary date! We have been married twelve years! There is nothing better, ever, than spending time alone with my man. I love you Brandon!

The answer is.......90210

Don't you just hate it when you are trying to make a quick purchase and before the clerk will start ringing you up they want to know your telephone number or zip code? So, I have decided that this is an opportunity for me to live out my fantasy. I will now tell all enquiring sales clerks that I reside in the zip code of 90210! And if they question further-------yes, Zions Bank does exist in Beverly Hills, CA.

I highly recommend you put a little joy in your life by choosing a favorite, fantasy zip code. How quickly an annoyance can turn into a moment of enjoyment.

I know, entertainment for the bored housewife. It doesn't get much better than this.

Olympic Park

We went to Olympic Park today with all the kids. It was the last official show for the High Flying Aerial Stunt Team for this season. It was incredible to see all these amazing jumps. Little Brandon was glued to the show and of course wanted to sign up for a class to start learning how to do it. (I am sure that would cost a fortune, so I think we will stick with football.) It was amazing. I don't know if you can tell in the pictures how high these jumpers are in the air!!! SOOOO incredible! That would be amazing to have that feeling of being so high in the air, doing acrobatics, and then falling and splashing into the water. That would be the experience of a lifetime. The kids also enjoyed the museum there. A great family field trip!

Look closely, do you see the four ski jumpers?

A Change in Perspective

When you become a Mom, it is amazing how your perspective changes. What used to be an elevator---a convenience, now turns into a child's fantasy and a parents nightmare. Why is it that children cannot resist touching the elevator buttons no matter how many times you tell them to keep their hands off? They also can't resist touching the door --- which brings out the fear that their little hands are going to get sucked into the side panels. I think we only pressed the alarm button a couple times during our stay here the last couple of days. Who knew a simple elevator could be a stress level for parents----especially with 3 little toddlers in tow. I would've never guessed this prior to children. Oh, the things we learn.

Maddie Hugs

(the following entries for a while are all from our stay in Aspen Grove Family Camp-----thanks to my parents for hosting us! )
There is not much greater in this world than recieving a sweet, sincere, full of love hug from little Maddie. She could melt any heart!

Benj the Breakdancer

So, the last night of the camp, they have a family dance. At first thought, it might seem like a lame idea, but it is actually one of the funnest events for the kids. An hour or two of fun music and they just all go crazy. It is so darn cute. Each one of my kids had a great time dancing, but little Benjamin was incredible with his break dancing moves. For a 3 year old he is quite amazing. He is such a handsome, sweet, little boy!

Putt-Putt

Maddie Time

After swimming, Maddie wanted to play, so Grandma and I took her to play. 3 generations of girls had some fun. I love seeing through Maddie's eyes. She is so excited about everything and so happy. It is truly a blessing to have such a beautiful, happy, precious little girl in my life.

My Little Fish

My Cute Mom

Grandma's Got a Gun!

Grandma's got a gun

Mr. Instructor helping my Mom

Dad, Does your probation officer know you are participating in this activity?

My sweet Brandon

Well, we convinced Grandma to participate at the shooting range today. It was the first time she has ever done it. My husband Brandon assured us girls that he would take us out and show us how to really do it---as the instructor was a little uptight. He really enjoyed saying "Put your safety's on and lay the guns down NOW.", or "CEASE FIRE." "If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you can address those with me." "I suggest women use the black guns; they are easier to use." I told him that seemed a bit sexist, but then I decided I had better use the black gun. Anyway, Mr. Instructor seemed a little older then the other camp workers and he was not married. Perhaps he is a little FRUSTRATED. (You could tell he needs to release a lot of tension.)

He walked around holding his arms behind his back and was quite strict about not letting anyone but the shooters up on the platform. He yelled at other men playing frisbee in the vicinity and complained about all those loitering around near his shooting range. You could tell he really enjoyed his high level of authority as the range master at Aspen Grove Family Camp. Anyway, we had fun shooting our 5 pellets that were carefully divied out to each individual. Sometimes people like this bring my evil side out. I couldn't resist asking my Dad if his parole officer was OK with his participation on the range. I also had to yell a loud "OW" as someone shot the gun. It was great to see Grandma and Grandpa shooting guns!!! Definately something you don't see every day!

Let Me Be Your Hero

OK, I just love my husband. He is so funny. He always makes me laugh. He made a boring car ride to Aspen Grove quite amusing. We heard the song, "Lady in Red" which reminded us both of Stake Dances back in the day. Then came on the song, "Let Me Be Your Hero" by that Iglesias fellow. Anyway, my hubby decided to sing the song to me and do all the impressions to go with it. SOOO hysterical. The best part is at the beginning of the song when he whispers, "Let me be your hero." Even better when Brandon starting whispering the words. My hubby told me the story and picture were for our "private collection"(as is his portrayal of RIVERDANCE), but I had to share. Now I am starting to wonder exactly what is in our "private collection"----scared of that!!!
