Maddie (4) and Benj (5)----Birthday Party

What fun Benjamin and Maddie had. They each invited friends to a Pirate/Princess Party! Balloons, cake, pinatas, party games, lots of kids=lots of fun!!! It was a great way to celebrate their birthday! I am so grateful for my Irish twins!!! They bring such joy to our lives! On these occasions, my heart fills with such gratitude for the blessing of having them in our lives! They are such precious, beautiful, happy, good kids! Benjamin was so excited for his party. They loved watching us write out the invitations, loved giving them to friends, Benj chose the cake for the both of them. We put candles on both sides of the cake, and they both blew out their candles. SO CUTE. I loved the party games, and am so grateful for a wonderful husband who embraces the child within. He is so fun to be around, and is willing to get silly!!! So cute. He planned out the party games which included the pinatas. I had to laugh, we attached the pinatas to the end of a broom, and he held the broom. We used a light saber as the bat. The kids loved it. We also blew up lots of balloons and had the kids sit on them and try to pop them. Let's not forget derivative games from pin the tail on the donkey, for princesses and pirates!!!! We also started out the party with arts and crafts, decorating crowns with glue, feathers, letters, etc. The kids loved the art projects! Such a fun party! Happy Birthday Maddie and Benj. (Funny thing, we had the party on Dylan's birthday--Fri. the 13th. We celebrated Dylan's birthday on Sunday!)

I was not my normal camera self yesterday and actually missed the shot of the big screen wishing Brandon a Happy Birthday. If I make it to this age, maybe we can all go to a baseball game. (Although I don't think it would be my dream birthday party at 92 years old.) That's why I am eating so much junk now, I'll be dead before people can be planning my party at a baseball game.

I know little Brandon had a great time, but as a parent, I was not too impressed. If you are wondering if this is a good idea....NOT so much! Anyway, here are some pics of the game!!! Brandon had fun inviting some of his friends and enjoying a night of baseball.

I didn't really enjoy that they messed up the birthday package. We ordered the birthday package to make it easier---ha, ha! We went to our seats, only to find the seats were divided up in different places.

I didn't know it was the first time they had a birthday party there (note sarcasm.)

Taking 8 kids (My husband had Benj) back to the ticket office, waiting 10 minutes for them to rearrange our seating was certainly NOT priceless. Dragging all the 8 kids back to new seats? Not so fun. Using our meal vouchers at the same time they sent the mascot to "visit" with the kids at the party also didn't work out so well. Very unorganized, I must say!!!! But hey, the kids had fun and hopefully didn't notice too much of the stress of the parents involved.

I am always looking for new, fun experiences, so I guess this is one of those we can check off the list.

OK, so the question of the hour---do you write about nightmare experiences? Cause if you do, history will focus on that rather than the fun. If you don't mention the bad things, the child will probably remember the fun. In writing about the bad experiences of this birthday event, little Brandon might be left with that memory for his 9th birthday? Whatcha think?
