Ethan's 9th Birthday

I love my little Ethan. He is such a sweetheart. He is our more quiet child (God knows we needed one of those.) Ethan is a lot like his Daddy. He has lots of friends, but is also content to play on his own. Ethan LOVES Pokemon. On his birthday date, he chose to go to Texas Roadhouse for a steak. Ethan loves a good steak. Then we went to Toys R Us and bought all Pokemon toys; including Black and White...the DS games. I have no real idea what that is, but Ethan can tell you all about it. And for his birthday cake, he requested a chocolate mousse cake. We found one at Costco for him that he loved. Then tonight, for his birthday, he wanted to stay up and watch a movie. So, he and Brandon and us (Mom and Dad) are watching, "Muppets from Space".

Anyway, Ethan is such a handsome, good, smart little boy. I know he will be very successful one day, and my guess is that he will be very successful in computers, like his Dad. I am proud of my little man and so grateful for him in our life. His nature has always reminded me of my Grandpa Hall. Ethan, like my Grandpa, is a man of VERY few words. He doesn't talk a lot, but you can tell there is a lot going on between those ears.

Since they are off track right now, we had swimming lessons and then they stayed at the pool all day playing. Ethan's idea of fun. He wouldn't take advantage of the $10 birthday bribe to go down the big slide. He is a bit scared of heights.

Ethan was thrilled, one of his birthday games (DS) came from Nana and Papa. Grandma and Grandpa got him a water slide and water guns which he was excited about. Ethan got Nana's card in the mail today. Ethan said, "You know what I love about Nana's cards? They are always homemade." And he is right. She makes the best cards. What a great celebration for Ethan. Thanks everyone for making it so special for my little man.

Ethan's 9th Birthday Date and Birthday Cake

Ethan was so excited for his birthday date. He always wants a steak. So, we headed over to Texas Roadhouse. Then we went to Toys R Us and we bought a lot of Pokemon stuff...DS games, etc. The boy was thrilled. Then he specifically wanted a Chocolate Mousse cake. After some searching, I found a great one at Costco for my angel Ethan. He had so much fun. He was very excited by Nana and Papa's gift of a DS Pokemon game, and also loved his new water toys; water guns and slip n slide from Grandma and Grandpa Bartholomew. The boy had a great birthday. I love this child. He is very sweet and kind-hearted. He is also independent and enjoys playing on his own. For the most part he is a peaceful, easy going child. I love my Ethan.

Tulip Princess Pageant

Maddie was excited to participate in the Tulip Princess Pageant. It was very cute, innocent, and sweet. Here are some pictures. Afterwards my parents took us all to IHOP. It was a fun time had by all of us.

Work Experience

Well, I have been working at LDS Family Services for over 2 years. Today my supervisor asked me to co-lead the Pornography group. I figure this will be an incredible opportunity for learning and growth. I have preferred in the past, running AMAC groups (Adults Molested as Children), but hey. It starts Wednesday. This should give me one more realm of expertise through time.....I love learning. I am not the most fond of addiction, but I also once, long ago, said that about teens. Now I love teens. So, we shall see where this leads in the future. It's always exciting to me to start new opportunities.

Ethan's Third Grade Project

Oh, how we love these child school projects...that Daddy gets to help our kids with. This one is a bit hateful, I must admit. Ethan was so excited about the HALO theme. He told his Dad the night before that he hoped his project would be "Cool". You start to see the child anxiety....worrying if their project will be cool....makes you hope that it will be for them...you realize how important these things are for them. Thanks Daddy, for making it cool. Oh, and thanks Maddie for practicing your letters on our sidewalk as we were working on the project:)
