Oh Christmas Tree

For our family home evening, after getting a spiritual message from Daddy, the older boys helped put up the Christmas tree! I don't know how well this will work with the babies! I guess we shall see! It sure was cute to see the excitement the kids had at putting up the tree! Children do make Christmas such a magical time! That is Ethan with his Ben 10 watch. Currently, the two are inseparable!

Ethan & Dylan!

Big brother Ethan and little Dylan!

Ethan (5) just adores his little brother Dylan (1). It is so cute to overhear little Ethan talking babytalk to his little brother Dylan. Ethan already has a high-pitched voice, but when he imitates his Mom's high-pitched baby-talking voice, I can't help but giggle a little inside! It is SOOOOO adorable! What parent doesn't love to see their children loving one another? Dylan doesn't always love all the "concern", but one day he will appreciate all the love he gets from big brother Ethan!

Jingle Bells

Brandon playing "Jingle Bells" at the church Christmas party!

One thing I just LOVE about my son Brandon is he is a go-getter! Whether it is getting ready for school, leaving for school on time, or whatever, he is always prepared! (Ethan on the other hand, seems to know this, and dawdles around, doesn't have a care in the world, and always fills little Brandon wtih great anxiety about being late for school! Little Brandon is always trying to get Ethan as motivated as he is about things!)

So, last week at church, they sent around a sign up sheet for the talent show at the Christmas party. Without missing a beat, Brandon signed himself up to play a piano song! So, he comes home from church, announcing to me that he is going to be in the talent show at the Christmas party. He told me he wanted to play a Christmas song, but didn't know any!

So, last Monday was his piano lesson. I had forgotten of his need for a Christmas song, but no, Brandon did not forget, and asked his piano teacher, if she could write out the music for a Christmas song on his level! So, thanks to his great teacher Angie, he came home with "Jingle Bells."

Throughout the week, Brandon was quite persistent in asking me to help him play the song. (He won't practice unless I sit and help him.)

I was really proud of him at the church Christmas party last night, getting on the piano to play "Jingle Bells." He did a perfect job and was so proud of himself. I am so proud of his determination to go after and accomplish things! He is such a darling, sweet little boy and he makes me SO proud. Here is a picture I took of him playing his little song! It is moments like this that make me so grateful to have a sweet son named Brandon!

Saturday of Snow!

Dylan discovering snow!
Beware of Brandon and snowballs!
Pretty and warm in pink!
Rooski (Benj's nickname!)
Wow! We woke up to a wonderful blanket of snow today! And.....it keeps snowing! Whenever this happens, especially on a Saturday, all other plans are abandoned, as we now get to play in the snow! Kids and snow are such a fun combination!

Mr. Snowman

Thanks to Aunt Jen, who sent us a snowman kit, we had everything to make our Mr. Snowman; except the snow! Today the snow came, and so we got to make Mr. Snowman. Thanks Aunt Jen, we all had an incredible time, as you can see! What a great gift for a day of fun! We had so much fun with our friends & neighbors; The Barzee's!

Brandon working on the snowman!

Benjamin and friend Coleman making the snowman!
The finished Mr. Snowman! (all the participants, our family and great friends; The Barzee's!) Don't you love that Maddie is holding a purse? She truly is all girl!

A Girl Needs to Accessorize!

So, I dressed Miss Maddie in her warm clothes! I had to laugh as she insisted on bringing out "her baby" and a purse into the cold with her! The girl cracks me up! As you can see, the girl ended up showing loyalty to her purse rather than her baby! We will have to work on those mothering skills! Leaving your baby lying in the cold snow is probably not the best option! The girl, however, would not let go of that purse through everything---making the snowman, going sledding, falling down----no matter what happened, she held on to that purse! Don't get between a girl and her accessories! This hobby of hers could become expensive for us in the future!

Choosing the purse over the baby; I agree that accessories can be important, but at what cost?
On her way sledding, with the purse!
Even when she falls, her little hands do NOT let go of the purse!

A Brother Bond!

Brothers Brandon and Benjamin seem to have a special bond. Here were some of their bonding activities today!

Where Is Ethan?

After reading and seeing the last 4 or 5 blog entries, you might be wondering where Ethan is! During our snow adventures, Ethan was at a friend's birthday party. They had a great time seeing a movie and playing together! Here is a picture of Ethan upon returning from his party!
