Dad's Birthday

My Dad wanted to spend his birthday with his family. So we all went up to the Church History Museum, Temple Square, and the Distribution center. My Dad wanted all his grandkids to have a picture of the Temple for their bedroom, so they each were able to choose a temple picture they liked. It was beautiful to walk past the Temple, see the Christus statue, go to the Church History museum (which has a Polish folk art display right now), the Church History museum also has full costumes for the children to dress up and do the Christmas story thing. SO cute. Benjamin made such a cute little wise man. They also had crafts for the kids to make, and many other cute kid displays. They are changing all the kid displays in mid January, so you may want to get there before then. A great family activity. Thanks Dad for letting us share in your birthday!!! We love you!

Liam Mower Electricity

I LOVE this performance. I love this song. I love Elton John. I would love to see the Broadway show Billy Elliott in person. I could watch this over and over. Liam Mower does a great rendition of this song "Electricity". Elton John wrote all the music for this broadway show. Makes me want to see more.

Kid Quotes

"Someone in my class has the best Mom. A girl in my class, her Mom let her watch Batman Dark Knight. You are not the best Mom." -Ethan (6)

"I am a superhero girl." -Maddie (3)

While dropping off Daddy at the gun show, little Maddie says, "Daddy, I see a cowboy." (Next year I may have to go too, just for the people watching. Incredible.)

As I was giving Benjamin (3) lots of kisses, he tells me "When you give lots of kisses, you have to marry."

"Daddy, I wish I could put glue on my feet so I could stick to the wall." -Benjamin (3)

"Can I use the broom to play Harry Potter?" -Ethan (6). I tell him no, as I am sick of having to look for the broom all over the house, so I tell him to use his imagination, instead of a broom. Ethan's response: "It's no fun using your imagination."

Facebook Groups

OK, I admit. The last week or so I have been totally obsessed with Facebook and starting Facebook groups. It is so fun to start them. Anyone can. I have started about seven groups. Groups from high school, old wards, old work groups, freshman college groups, current ward groups, family groups, extended family groups, there are mission groups, I love Costco groups....you get the picture. It's all out there, and if you can't find it, start one. I dare you. Double dog dare you. Just do a search for any group you want to start to make sure it doesn't already exist. And if it doesn't, start one.

Refreshing all those great relationships from the past? Fabulous.

OK, now go to facebook and sign up if you haven't, and then start a group.

One question. If you message someone you visit teach or home teach on Facebook, does it count as a visit?

Santa Tractor Ride

What a fun church get together! The kids had a blast, there was hot cocoa, fire pits, and a Santa mobile pulled by a tractor. So fun for the kids to tell Santa what they want. What a fun evening for the family!

Internet Friends....

I am so grateful for this blogging world, and the great people I have met through this medium. I have met such fun, warm, kind friends here. You all mean so much to me, so thank you for being part of my life. I will be reminded of this each time I look at this beautiful picture sent to me by my friendBon. I won a contest Bon held, and as a result, I get this beautiful picture. Score, she had told us she gave good gifts, and she wasn't kidding! For those who love it as much as I do, it is a "Moonlight Vintage Board" with the title "Moonlight and Roses". I love it. What a great gift. Thank you Bon! I have it displayed in my living room where everyone can see it coming in.
Love all the detail! I had to show you up close!

Thank you Bon, I am having so much fun with this!

Walmart Unitard

Benjamin was the first to make himself a Walmart bag Unitard and Maddie soon followed. Hours of fun with a Walmart bag. Who needs expensive clothes when you can make such a fashion statement with a Walmart bag. Now we are officially white trash.

The Place of Nightmares

A school lunchroom.
It looks quite tame, even pleasant.
But, it can be a place of nightmares for some children.
Hopefully it won't be that way for my children, ever, and hopefully my children will not make the school lunchroom a place of nightmares for other children.
Guess it is not the time to get into my childhood issues.
Maybe another time!
