Camping at Willard Bay

My husband is great at planning new family activities. He wanted our family to go camping, so he found campgrounds, reserved a spot for our family, and got all the camping equipment. I love my husband---he is great at making these things happen! Anyway, it was very exciting, the kids were thrilled at getting to stay in a tent, roasting marshmallows and hotdogs and having their own personal flashlight (which they flashed mercilessly upon us in the tent for much of the night.) The enthusiasm of children on these adventures is priceless. Although we had never been to this campground, we were impressed. Luckily, we were at the campground next to the bathrooms---helpful with lots of little kids.

Campfire

Nothing like a family campfire with marshmallows. We would have had chocolate to make smores, but all the chocolate melted.

Fishin' at Willard Bay

Did we catch any fish? No. Did fishing occupy the thoughts and talk of my children for the three days prior? Yes. Were they excited? Yes. Did the lines get tangled several times? Yes. Did it help when the kids threw rocks constantly in the water? I don't think so. Did we scare all the fish over to the people on the other side of us? Probably, they did catch a big catfish.

Benjamin was telling me all about the catfish he was going to catch when we went fishing. The anticipation is half the fun. My little dreamers were thrilled at the prospects of catching a fish and eating it. No luck this round, maybe next time. The kids had a great time.

Oquirrh Temple Open House

I took the five kids to the Temple Open House today. It was beautiful to see. I am hoping some of the children were inspired by the experience. There is such a sacred beauty found at the Temple!

Funny notes: Maddie (3) is almost taller and maybe taller than brother Benjamin (4). Ethan SO reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes in the picture below. We were thinking we might name him Calvin before he was born. It would so fit him!

We had a nice time today! My babies are growing up quickly.
