Snuggie Time
If you didn't get a Snuggie by Christmas 2009, you should definitely feel deprived. Cause you are. Although, admittedly, some people might enjoy the feeling of deprivation!

Who said pulling weeds is hard?
You know you live in the country when you pass this on the way home. I noticed the other day, a guy putting an animal in the front yard, and I was wondering what this was about. At closer inspection, it became clear, the home owners had placed some goats in a cage on the parking strip. The owners move the cage over a little every day. I figure they will be done "mowing" the strip in front of their house in about 5 days. Maybe I can ask to borrow the cage and goats for a couple days to get rid of all the weeds on our rock wall. Maybe they rent them out? That would be a good idea. Anyway----for your amusement (it's not as fun to laugh by yourself).

How to Clear a Pool
Just coincidentally, after our family of seven arrived at the pool and started splashing, jumping, making noise, and being us, everyone else at the pool left. I wonder if there was some hotel scheduled party. Cause I am sure they all didn't leave on such a beautiful day just because of us-----------if you ever want to clear a pool area within minutes, we can help you out with that.
I have been wondering what exactly caused the simultaneous clearing of all pool patrons. Could it have been......
Jumping from chair to chair like Tigger? I think Maddie thought the chairs were mini trampolines to bounce on.

Or could it have been jumping into Daddy's arms in the hot tub and splashing everyone?

Or maybe Dylan's jumps?

Or just all the splashing in general?

Was it the kids hiding in the bushes?

The older boys jumping into the water?

Or perhaps all the "bubbles" in the water?

Hmmmm. I will have to be thinking on that. Let me know if you have any thoughts---

Lifetime Lessons
OK, I was checking out this blog that was so funny. She discussed the many LESSONS to be learned from Lifetime Movies. I was cracking up. We all can use a little humor on a Saturday afternoon. She also happens to love Beyonce; maybe as much as I do. She may even fantasize about doing the dance routines of Beyonce just like me. Can you hear me now "All the single ladies, all the single ladies.....". Just be glad you don't have to see me dance to it. Not so attractive. But that is another story. Anyway, take a look at THIS blog for some laughs! You may find yourself adding it to your Reader, it's just that funny. Also, as you can see below, I am not the only one wanting to do Beyonce dance routines. So does Justin Timberlake as seen on this SNL parody you have all probably seen!SNL Beyonce and Justin Timberlake

Dog Behind the Wheel
So, our whole family pulls into the parking space, and right in front of us, is this image. I had to do a double take. Some animals seem so human, and if I didn't look twice, I might have thought it was a person behind the wheel. This dog made me smile. Luckily, (I know you are so shocked) I had my camera with me. Love that camera. I love it so much I should have named it by now.
On a random side note, my camera is a Canon Powershot S5IS. I would definately recommend it, it has lasted through thousands of pictures and since last Christmas (which prior to this I have been going through 2 cameras a year). This camera has fallen on the ground, kids have kicked it (can't imagine why), and it usually stays in my purse (which is a TOTAL danger zone). I bought this camera for the zoom lens which can go up to 12 megapixels, and the camera takes 8 megapixel pictures. If you are looking for a good Christmas gift, I guess they have a new one out-----we checked out Consumer Reports last year and it was the best rated camera in it's category! It has proven to be DREAMY. Thank you camera for all the fun you have given me. This year I will try to get a life that is not behind a lens. Well, maybe. No promises.
When I write random blog entries like this, I imagine what my grade on an essay like this would be in an English class. Not good. So glad this is not being graded, so glad I can be random. The joys of blogging.

Multiply and Replenish the Earth
Whenever we would hear about multiplying and replenishing the earth, my husband would always say, we have "Multiply" and "Replenish"; Brandon and Ethan, respectively. Well, since then, our family has definately multiplied a bit more with our next 3 additions.
Anyway, as I was thinking about this tight political race, I decided (in jest) that another reason to "multiply and replenish" the earth is to hopefully create more votes along your political lines----although that clearly is not always the case---as many children have differing political views than their parents. But hey, it could make a difference, especially a couple generations out. I think of the posterity of my grandparents on both sides, and it is huge. I can make a fairly good guess what political affiliation is the choice of most of that posterity. Hmmm. Maybe we could try for a couple more children before the next election.
Although, maybe there are better reasons to have children. Hmmmmmmmmm. Just kidding, I have to have some fun on election day!!! Happy Voting!

And best costume goes to-------
Scott Barzee. For Halloween he decided to be a U Fan. This entailed a mullet, a little extra weight via pillow, and a special beverage. He walked around saying, "Win or lose, we booze." Can you tell he is the biggest BYU fan? It was especially fun going trick or treating to the U fans in the neighborhood.

Proverbs 22:6
I don't know what is more funny---the t-shirt or the fact that I got it at D.I. for $1.00. Does that mean this t-shirt is out of touch with our society---since it is found at a thrift store??? I guess it depends which side of the fence you are on!
What is the saying? Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)---hence the t-shirt. Just kidding---You have got to have a sense of humor in this election year!
I have to enjoy some political humor while I still can!!!

How to Rotate your Food Storage
(More pictures and details have been requested of the blessed event of this last weekend.)
How to Rotate your Food Storage:
Get two toddlers (preferably almost ages 3 and 4 as they need strength for the task at hand). These two will do! You can borrow them if necessary!

Send them to your food storage. Or, if you are the average Mom, just send them to the basement, and they will just happen to find their way to your food storage.
They will open many packages of your food storage. In our case it was four 25 pound bags of sugar. Yes, 100 pounds, not to mention the beans.

This way, you will be able/forced to replace items in your food storage that may have been there too long. Or, as was our case, you will be able to rotate your food storage even if it has NOT been there too long. A great way to make sure you always have the freshest ingredients in your food storage. I mean, in a famine, would you not want the most fresh food storage possible?

Sad to say, this was not all of the sugar. Thank goodness for our shop vac---and a man to carry 100 pounds of mess upstairs. Juan, oh I mean Brandon, thank you sooooo much. You's the man! It really helps to have a pool boy around---
The end of the mess---lots of beans, a little sugar.

Since we had 100 pounds of sugar for devouring, maybe we should have just bought 2 sugargliders. Then maybe all that sugar wouldn't have gone to waste.
I also have toy/gift storage in that closet which is probably what my toddlers were after in the first place. (Cause you know in an emergency, you will need toys.) I had bought this Princess throne on sale at amazon many months ago so we could use this "throne" for Madison for her 3rd birthday, where OBVIOUSLY the theme would be Princess. Well, as you can see, Madison was quite determined to open this. I know Madison was behind this because she has a superhuman gift to destroy cardboard. I am sure Benjamin helped her out a ton.
For once, (and I mean ONCE) I was grateful for the dreadful, hateful packaging, that is so hard for even adults to open. This time, that annoying quality was actually on my side and prevented Maddie from opening part of her birthday gift.

Yeah, I guess we are not too good at surprises around here.
Luckily for the children, we had been watching General Conference and therefore they did not get beaten. (JUST KIDDING!)
If you want to read the prior post on this :and I guess they wanted to celebrate

The answer is.......90210
Don't you just hate it when you are trying to make a quick purchase and before the clerk will start ringing you up they want to know your telephone number or zip code? So, I have decided that this is an opportunity for me to live out my fantasy. I will now tell all enquiring sales clerks that I reside in the zip code of 90210! And if they question further-------yes, Zions Bank does exist in Beverly Hills, CA.
I highly recommend you put a little joy in your life by choosing a favorite, fantasy zip code. How quickly an annoyance can turn into a moment of enjoyment.
I know, entertainment for the bored housewife. It doesn't get much better than this.

Hold Your Horses!
As we were driving out of town on our trip we passed this. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. So, of course we had to turn around to take some pictures.
My only question: Can you go through the drive-thru on a horse?
Maybe the horses saw the sign and wanted some caramel apples. Or---perhaps a new marketing campaign for Kneaders???

CGRH8R
Can you figure out what this license plate is saying?

Don't be a hater! Especially of BYU! My husband captured this while driving. While living in Utah county, we did not experience the Cougar hate that we now see and hear of quite frequently. In case you can't see it the license plate reads: "CGRH8R". (COUGARHATER). Not so friendly! Especially since we are COUGAR and BYU fans.
Or, I guess there is one other option-----maybe this trucker is some young, hot dude who is sick of being chased by older women AND he HATES it!

Refreshing
Refreshing for the busy SAHM: opening up a can of mandarin oranges and just drinking out the juice. I know, if you are not a SAHM with many kids at home, you may happen to have some juice in the house (if we have any juice in the house---it is usually gone in 2 secs). Or, you could actually run and go grab a fresh glass of OJ. (Not worth it when you have 5 kids! You have to find creative ways to get that little refreshing treat!)
We all have a white trash side within---and my white trash side just loves me some mandarin orange juice. True---you only get about 2 ounces, so you may have to open several cans to get desired effect. For a stay at home Mom, this is the equivalent of what a bubble bath with candles would be for the average woman of the world! I know, I dream big!

Ironic Mugshots
Maybe I will not be buying anymore slogan t-shirts for my children! Check out this link for more amusement:
Mugshots
Clearly you should not be wearing these tshirts when you get arrested. Before you commit crimes, check your shirt first and dress accordingly---just in case!

Multi-Tasking at a whole new level!
Feel like kids in America take too much for granted and are just too darn lazy? Do you have HADD? (Housework Attention Deficit Disorder---thanks Anne Marie for the term) Do you feel like your floors never get done? Well, there is now a solution to these problems! I saw this on Ellen the other day, and Brandon and I were laughing our heads off. This is a real product---out of Japan. If you have a baby, who is not yet walking, that baby can also be your mop!!! Now, your baby can do your floors and play---all at the same time! Perfect for the multi-tasking Mom!

My Little Gentlemen and Double Doors!
OK, see, here is my example. Here are the two sets of heavy doors within several feet of each other. Isn't one set enough? The things that boggle my mind!

I am happy to say, my little boys love to open the doors for everyone. Even little Benjamin (3) does his part to always open the doors for the ladies.
However, I have one question. OK, maybe 2 questions! Why, pray tell, do they often put two rows of doors within 2 feet of each other? Is not the first set of doors enough security? Is the thought that maybe thieves breaking in, may only be able to get through the first set of doors? But they will be tricked with the second set?
Also, why do they make doors so seriously heavy & hard to open? Are doors not for people to open? Luckily, my boys see doors as an obstacle with which to show their super-hero strength, so they open them for me. But have you ever tried to get them open, with a stroller? They freakin' are way to heavy! And why?
Seriously, does anyone else wonder about these things? I guess most people probably have better things to think about. I am one of the proud, happy to say, that I have nothing better to ponder on, then a double set of doors! Questions like this have been known to keep insomnia alive & well, at least for me!!!
Luckily, I have four boys. So, even if they decide to install four sets of heavy doors in a row, I will be OK. I have four boys to help me open all those doors. I guess they just need to wait until Dylan is a little bigger!
(My husband just informed me that the double doors help with the heating and air costs. Silly me!)
